Getting started
Connect a wallet
Which wallets work, what signing in means, and how the session behaves.
Supported wallets
Plinth works with Solana wallets that support the Wallet Standard, the way current browser wallets such as Phantom, Solflare and Backpack register with web apps. When you select Connect wallet, the app lists every compatible wallet it finds in your browser.
A wallet has to be able to sign messages and sign Solana transactions. Wallets that can only sign and send, without returning the signed transaction, also work: the app then asks the wallet to broadcast.
Signing in
After the wallet connects, it shows a sign-in message like this one:
plinth.example requests a Plinth wallet sign-in.
Wallet: 7Xa…
URI: https://plinth.example
Version: 1
Nonce: 3f9c…
Issued At: 2026-10-06T08:00:00.000Z
Expiration Time: 2026-10-06T08:05:00.000Z
This signature authenticates your wallet. It does not authorize a token transfer.Signing it starts a session for this site. Each message works once and expires after five minutes.
| Session length | 12 hours |
| Sign-in message valid for | 5 minutes, once |
| Stored by the app | Your address, and a hash of the session token |
Switching accounts and disconnecting
- If you switch accounts in your wallet, the app signs you out, because the session belongs to the old account. Connect again to sign in as the new one.
- Disconnect in the account menu ends the session on the server and disconnects the wallet.
- Reloading the page keeps you signed in while the session lasts.
Networks
The app shows its network next to the wallet button: Mainnet, or Localnet for a local test network. Every token page reads from that network, and every transaction is sent to it.
